EKU Copperhead Research Project

EKU Students Safely Observing a Copperhead Snake

Research opportunities abound at Eastern Kentucky University. With grant funding from the U.S. Forest Service and NSF Research Experience for Undergraduates, several EKU Biology students are participating in a research project to learn more about the Copperhead Snake. A species native to Kentucky.

Dr. Stephen Richter, Biology Faculty and principle investigator, recently spoke to EKU Stories about the research project.

Two local news stations also picked up the story, and broadcasts can be viewed on the websites of Lexington's WKYT and WLEX.
